Dzimbahwe Arts and Culture Heritage Research and Documentation Project

The hub values the work of research and documentation of Zimbabwe (African) arts and cultural heritage. By documenting these activities, we ensure that children as future generation can appreciate and learn from the rich cultural heritage of different nationalities and communities, we make sure habitual cultural activities that mark significant special events or seasonal changes are recognized. The hub uses different methods when carrying out these research included are Oral traditions, traditional crafts that help in preserving skills and knowledge required to produce more crafts not just physical end products. Audio and video recording, for performance and oral traditionalist, that are essential for festivals, rituals and ceremonies. During the research we recognize indigenous knowledge systems, traditional ecological knowledge, agricultural practices and interpretation of the surrounding nature and environmental practices.
